Your Mid-Term Assignment Is . . .
Given the recent searches, I suspect that many people are writing papers on Shakespeare’s Henry V, huh?
I’ll give you a hint: If you’re going to focus on the opening lines of the Chorus, do a search on the MLA index (your schools should provide a subscription unless they’re complete idiots) for articles on good old Henry V. Do not, I repeat, do not get your information solely from the web. Sure, I could write up an analysis of the lines (and just these two) that would make your jaw hit the floor, but I would have to do an article search. Don’t trust the flimsy stuff you find on a generic webpage. Look for honest to God research.
Do not rely solely on Branagh’s film adaptation. Or Olivier’s. Bad, bad student!
Thus endeth the research lecture.
