“The Mail! The Mail Is Here!”
The mail just came, and right to our front door, with two packages. One was for me, one was addressed to my father.
My grandmother (paternal, in case you haven’t guessed), just sent us guavas. Mmmmm, guavas! Best fruit on earth.
The package for me contained a late Christmas gift from a college friend. The gift was The Da Vinci Code. And this is the kind of friend you cannot regretfully tell you’ve already read the book courtesy of another friend. I love my friend, but I know her: She’d be . . . well, she’d be pissed off, and at me. I’ll just thank her, wait a couple of days, then let her know I finished it. Then when she asks what I thought, I’ll tell her what I’m planning to tell my other friend: It’s definitely a quick and entertaining read.
As soon as I saw the wrapped book, I knew it’d be one of two things: Will in the World or The Da Vinci Code. I suppose I have a sixth sense about books.
