The Fun Continues with Cars

Cars and the WordNerd family.  We’re not very compatible these days.

A drunk driver hit my grandmother’s house in Mexico.  He drilled a hole in the wall, and threw my grandmother (in her bed) and my cousin and my cousin’s daughter clear across the room.  The roof rained down on them.  They were, magically, unhurt.  They are now living in another part of the house (not connected to the ruined room – my grandmother’s house is set up in a courtyard style in which no one room is really connected to the other.

My father, down in Mexico, was staying in the room where my grandmother’s now been relocated to.  I have no idea if he was around when this happened.  He’s relocated to our house in Mexico – not a big deal for him at all.  My grandmother will later be relocated to my uncle’s house (so she won’t, you know, have to live somewhere with a hole in the wall).

The drunk driver ran away, of course.  My family knows who he is, and knows his family.  The family has agreed to pay damages – I have no idea if the kid will face any criminal charges for driving drunk and running from the scene.  Things aren’t exactly the same there as they are here.

Cars and the WordNerd family.  Not a good combo.
