Plan B, Resignations and Fundies
I am a posting madwoman today, but that’s only because I’m getting out and I’m actually reading news stories today. Because it can’t be linked to enough, read this on the FDA’s stalling when it comes to approving emergency contraception for over-the-counter sales:
A minor blurb in the NY Times (reg. req.) about the resignation of the Director of Women’s Health at the FDA:
Stuff like this makes me want to just shut down sometimes. I can’t understand the objection to Plan B sales other than it gives a great degree of control to women over their reproductive decisions. Approval and awareness of Plan B would lead to fewer abortions–but the only way the fundies want to prevent abortion is by putting us single hussies in chastity belts, right? And, oh yeah, banning abortion–yeah, watch abortions and women’s gruesome deaths rise if that happens and it’s coupled with abstinence-only education.
