When I Put My Mind to It . . .
Phew, taking a break from the morning’s activities. I got up at around 8am this morning and changed into running clothes, but was struck immediately by a horrible side pain that will NOT. GO. AWAY. Is it psychological or am I really in pain? I do plan on running later on, but given how the wind would most likely throw me back a couple of miles for every mile run, I’ll stick to the treadmill for today. Five miles, here I come.
However, when it seemed like my side would not cooperate for the run, I sat down to work on a few things. I’ve been fairly productive–I’ve found more than a few jobs I’m going to apply to, and have written two cover letters. I also finished one of my year-end projects–I have a feeling that the company sent a demon to possess me long enough to complete the damn project (even though it has no due date). I’ve also gotten through most of my lesson two info for my editing class. After this brief break, I’ll be tackling the editing class info again, downloading my assignment, and sending off a couple of e-mailed based resumes (my insides sort of churn with disappointment when I don’t get to send stuff via snail mail–I spent a ton on nice paper and envelopes). I’m also going to job hunt a bit more and compose more cover letters.
(An aside–one of the positions mentions, in its employee benefits section, that they have football, baseball, and volleyball teams. I so want to add a line to my qualifications saying that I’m not the greatest volleyball player, but I’ll dive after any volleyball that’s headed in my direction with gusto. Not very professional or job-related, but it’s so true. Besides running, volleyball is a sport I wish I had participated in during my formative years. Too cutesy for a cover letter, I think, but I’d love to be on a volleyball team, especially if there’s the added benefit of being with a company volleyball team.)
Like I said, it’s been a productive day. After this week, my workload is going to diminish significantly, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this effort on my part will continue. C’mon, WordNerd, get rid of that nasty lazy streak.

I get those side pains every once in a while, and they’ll affect my runs for about a week. They just mysteriously come and go. Hopefully yours won’t last long.
Your hoping must’ve helped — I ran the five miles without trouble. :)
Is there an echo? :D
No — when I first posted the message, it never registered on the main page. It kept on saying that there was only one comment, when there were in fact two. So I reposted it and forgot to erase the first of my comments.
Smart ass.
