Oh, Bother

I have now come up with a domain name, but haven’t purchased space just yet–my brother is set to recommend a good host, but for now, I have the name set.  I also have a few WordPress templates that I’m considering.  All in all, I should be transitioning the week between Christmas and the New Year since I have that time off from work.  Before that, though, my sister and I plan on going to Good Time Charley’s in Ann Arbor to get blasted.  Well, maybe not so much blasted, but a couple of Mister Misties would hit the spot.  Apparently the Bahama Mama is pretty damn good, so I guess I’ll be trying that, too.

Honestly, though, I’m feeling kind of out of it today.  The rush of last week resulted in a cold for me, the second cold of the season.  While I’ve been good about continuing with my daily routine (read: running since I’ve been home), I do feel balloon-headed and like sleeping more often than not.  It was like this when I did my half-marathon back in October, but at least that turned out well.  I’m also in a relatively mellow que sera, sera kind of mood, so at least my stress-level is currently low.  I have no idea if it’s going to skyrocket next week, but it very well might.  I’m trying to prepare for it, but honestly, I think the only way to do that is to sleep.  So why am I not sleeping right now?

I do have an office potluck tomorrow, and I’m not looking forward to it at all.  I think I’m going to swing by Meijer and just pick up any old pre-made salad, but I’m not looking forward to several hours in the office.  For one, it might aggravate my cold, and I’m also really dreading what assignment I get this time around.  I trust my boss as far as I can throw him (read: not even a centimeter), so I wouldn’t be surprised if he assigned me more of lazy co-worker’s work.  I’m going to just try to grit my teeth and do it with minimal complaining (I engaged in a lot of it last Monday) and try to enjoy hanging out with my friends.  However, if  can escape early, using my sickness as an excuse, I will.  Frankly, the only things that set me on edge this weekend are the thoughts of working on lazy co-worker’s assignment and the assignments (damn football) that come with the New Year–everything else falls into the thought category of que sera, sera.

As for the potluck, though . . . to quote Winnie the Pooh, "Oh, bother."  Where’s my Mister Misty?

Congratulations on your new blog! It looks good. (And I get to be the first to comment.)

    What is “Sonnet 87″?

Thanks much! Sonnet 87 is a Shakespearean sonnet, and it’s my favorite–I’ve loved it since I first read it in college, and have it memorized by heart. :)

I used the sonnet as a TypeList on my old page, so here’s the text: http://notanindependentthoughtinmyhead.blogs.com/about.html
