I Called It

Little Brother Mathgeek, the future MIT alumnus, finished high school this past week. Congratulations, Mathgeek! You are now free from all the rampant idiocy of our old high school, never again to have to sit in class next to the truck pullers, the FHA obsessed, the “gentry” names of our town, the kid you’ve known since kindergarten, the ignorant who only grudgingly accepted you because you were “different” from every other Mexican in the world (whatever). You are now free and you only have to return for your graduation ceremony. In the evening on a Sunday. What the hell?

Anyway, while looking through my archives to see how many times the name “MIT” came up in my blog prior to Mathgeek’s acceptance and enrollment, I came across this little gem (you have to scroll down to the bottom to see MIT):

I can only hope that he’s not wearing a Saline High School class t-shirt when he’s studying at MIT, lonely and depressed because he’s not popular in college (who the fuck is?). I can only hope that these four years actually do go by a little faster for him.

Called it!

(No, not the lonely and depressed and wearing a high school class t-shirt part — the “going to MIT” part.)

Heh, you wrote that a long time ago. I’m sorry to say, high school did go by very slowly. Fortunately you guys really helped me get through it!
