I Could Get Used to This

IP is on what the media is calling a “staycation” this week. Our “real” vacation begins in late July when IP meets me in Hawaii for a Big Island adventure. However:

When I got home yesterday, IP had gone to the gym, cleaned the apartment, and was in the process of formulating a dinner for that evening. After I hit the gym (and had my cool down cut short by a power outage . . . again), I came home to pasta with a delightful meat (bison) sauce, and bread. IP put the finishing touches on the meal by lighting a few candles since Pepco’s having some trouble keeping power on after a storm passes through the area. I was positively thrilled – a boyfriend who works out, cleans, and cooks. Buffed, neat and chef-y, in other words. I need to figure out a way to make him my kept man. Sure, it means I log the hours at the office, but it also means I don’t have to drag out the vacuum on the weekends (or, more accurately, contemplate doing so but end up feeling guilty when I don’t). Whee!

He even fixed the bathroom sink by unclogging the drain and reconnecting the pop-up stopper! Not only does he do all of the above, he becomes Dr. Handyman when not distracted by work.

I could get used to this.
