The Post that Was the Post about the Posts

Posts I should work on but am too lazy to begin:

  1. The post about how my two favorite pairs of shoes have been sadly defeated by the mile-long walks to and from the Metro. I received my second pair for my birthday – not three months later and they are gone. My first pair is in the process of giving up the ghost. Clark Starbrights are expensive but are obviously not made to endure two miles everyday. We’re talking about cardboard spilling out of the heel. I need to get some replacements, but I have become miserly since getting engaged – the money must go to the live doves, I say! Lives doves!!!!111!!! In all seriousness, it would be wise to purchase something to last me through the winter as my flip-flops will probably not do.
  2. The post about how I accidentally found out what my pay raise is going to be. It’s not shabby, don’t get me wrong, but as of right now it seems as if my title will not change (and I hope that I am incorrect in that regard). If we’re nearly through the evaluation and no title change has been announced, I will ask for one since my duties are way above the title I hold now (which includes the dreaded word “assistant” – and it doesn’t come first, either). I am also in the process of beginning a job search since I don’t think I can survive the environment much longer.
  3. The post about how College Friend L (not to be confused with Dyn-o-mite! Friend and Bridesmaid L) sent *The* IP a birthday card. I think that College Friend L just can’t help herself – she’s one of those women with a card for every occasion – but she still can’t bring herself to correspond with me. *The* IP joked that he hoped there wasn’t any white powder in his birthday card. I am still not worried about her reaction to my demoting her to “guest” status – if she really thinks this wedding is about her, the level of self-absorption that even she admitted to is well beyond help.
  4. The post about how the automatic invite assumptions have started. A few people who are on the B list have started mentioning to me about how they’re eager to go to my wedding. Eep! Thing is, it’s quite possible they will receive an invite, especially given how we’re 99% sure that some people will not come. It’s not so bad because it amounts to perhaps four extra work people – since they are more work colleagues than anything else, invites will only go to fellow employees and their significant others, but not children. I am also still flirting with making the event child-free only because I’m in great panic that one kid will be a little bully to the others. We shall see.
  5. The post about the posts that I should be working on—

Okay, back to being lazy.
