A Wish
The changing parameters of the three work projects I’m currently on are getting to be very frustrating. Not so much that I’ll take it home with me, but what really nettles me is that my title is still lowly and insignificant. Everyone thinks I’m a goddamn secretary. Eighty percent of my contacts can’t bother to get my name right (hint: that other letter underlined at the end? Is not for decoration). Yet I’m in charge of two projects and have a major part in the third. The hell?
You know what would *really* cheer me up right about now? Finding a wedding photographer that’s modestly priced and takes good pictures. That’s all I ask. That would cheer me right the hell up in a second flat.

Well, I think you’ve found us a good photographer.
Since your title is a perennial problem, is there some way just to go around it? I mean just don’t use it. Take it out of your e-mail signature, don’t use it to introduce yourself, etc etc. Until they (finally!!) get around to changing it to something more appropriate to your actual contribution. Might be the best short-term fix.
True, very true. I should probably just take it out and let people speculate as to what my title is.
I am quite happy about the photographer, though. I think we’ll end up with great shots and from corresponding with her, she sounds pretty cool.
