Testing Blog, One, Two, Three . . .
I was locked out of my blog for the weekend. It seems that my current IP address at home is blacklisted and, subsequently, I couldn’t access my blog or the WordPress admin page. Since my IP (address, not fiancé) will eventually refresh itself (and I can access the blog at work), I figure it’s not a huge deal. I also figure that there is probably something I could do about it, but my Google searches have thus far been null and void. The last time this seemed to happen to WordPress blogs en masse was when a plug-in was updated by its developer. I do not use said plug-in.
I instead spent the weekend reading, attempting to write, and watching episodes of Dead Like Me. I also spent time on Wikipedia looking up Star Wars characters profiles for some reason. When IP asked me on Saturday what I was up to, I confessed that I was wasting time. He first guessed the wedding, scowling at me. When I corrected him with the Star Wars info, his face cleared with a smile, assuring me that this was weird, but that working on the wedding even weirder. Ah, to have such balance and perspective. And did you know that Han and Leia’s son becomes a Sith lord? Those nutty Skywalker Jedi.
The weekend included a one-night stay at a boutique hotel in the area, complete with a visit to the hotel’s restaurant. The food was quite good and the room was very nice; it was a treat for IP and me after all the wedding frustrations we’ve been having (note: not marriage frustrations, wedding frustrations, because the marriage is obviously more important than the wedding, so of course we talked about things like money, sex, kids, careers, etc., before IP even considered buying me a ring, and we still continue to talk about them because we like to communicate . . . ahem). We’re still on wedding break, and I anticipate continuing on that path well into April.
So let’s see if this entry actually posts.
