Christmas Tree Semi-Fail
IP and I were all excited, having set up and trimmed our new Christmas tree. We plugged in the lights, ready to be delighted.
The top third of the tree didn’t light up at all. D’oh!
We tried to fix the problem by switching out fuses, but the last third of our tree remains stubbornly and depressingly dark. The tree’s still nice; it just needs some lights up top. I ordered a small string of lights that has yet to get here; I’m this close to breaking down and running to CVS. The lights that come later can be placed on one of our windows or something.
But it is nice to have a Christmas tree. I had to stay at the miserable four-star hotel again (and they put me on the exec floor, which was cool, but still not home) at the beginning of the week, so seeing the tree last night again was quite nice. Now we just need to get presents under there (ahem: that was a hint for IP to send me his wish list).
Ah, the Christmas spirit seems to have returned to me.
